Govt can’t garner majority to endorse amendment: Oli -

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has accused government of making political interference in judiciary. Interacting with journalists here on Tuesday, Chairman Oli said, “The judiciary has become a hub for political appointment today due to extreme political interference.”

The former Prime Minister Oli further accused the incumbent government of becoming ineffective in its six month tenure. “The government has failed to do works in an effective manner,” he said, “The government’s intention does not seem to hold elections.”

Talking about constitution amendment, Chairman Oli asserted that the amendment bill won’t get endorsed under any circumstance. “There is no enough majority of lawmakers and government cannot endorse it by bringing their family members,” said Oli in a sarcastic manner.

Oli warned of constitutional vacuums if elections were not held within 10 months. He added that UML is not in favour of adding the Parliament’s tenure. “UML wants election, not the government leadership,” said Oli.
